Unable to update to latest version

I purchased my license on 11/10/2025. Wanted to update to latest version to correct ocr malfunction. I was told that my license has expired and I would need to purchase a new one.for any new updates.

When I originally purchased this, one of the features was free updates for one year. Is that not correct now or have I misunderstood what I was buying?

I understand your frustration with being told your license has expired shortly after purchasing it. This must be confusing, especially since the original purchase included free updates for a year.

Based on the information available in the forum, MCEBuddy made a change to its licensing model starting with major version 2.6.1.

Here is the key point regarding updates for older licenses:

  • Legacy Licenses (Purchased before January 18th, 2023): Access to new major releases is limited to version 2.5.x. You can continue to use and download older versions up to 2.5.x.
  • New Licenses (Purchased on or after January 18th, 2023): Access to new releases (Stable and Beta) is provided under the new model.

Since you purchased your license on November 10th, 2025, it is a new license under the current access program. The license generally provides access to updates for a certain period (which is what you are referring to as “free updates for one year”).

It is highly recommended that you:

  1. Check the version number of the MCEBuddy software you are currently running.
  2. Verify the exact terms of the license you purchased, as the terms for new licenses may differ from the older “lifetime” model.

To resolve the issue of your license being flagged as expired, I recommend you reach out to the MCEBuddy support team directly. They will be able to look up your specific license purchase (dated 11/10/2025) and confirm its status and the remaining update period.

What is the process to contact the support team?

The best way to contact the MCEBuddy support team directly for license and account issues is to use the contact information provided on the main MCEBuddy website.

Searching the forum for a direct email or phone number for support is generally unhelpful, as support is typically handled through:

  1. Posting in the appropriate forum category (which you are already doing for technical questions, but license issues are often handled privately).
  2. Using the official contact method on the main website.

Since this is a licensing issue that requires accessing your private purchase details, I recommend you go to the main MCEBuddy website and look for their Contact or Support page to find the official support email or contact form. This ensures your private information is handled securely outside of the public forum.
