Too Much Cut - Not Sure Where to Start to Fix

Hey Guys -

I’m a recent MCEBuddy subscriber and am having issues with virtually all of my processed files being cut down way too much. Most of the files it processes are from PlayOn therefore are from web streaming which have ads but are probably slightly different than a recording from cable/TV.

Below are the results from a single file I attempted today followed by the MCEBuddy settings then log for the file:
Initial File

  • h264 MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
  • 1280x720
  • mp4a audio (Stereo)
  • Size: 323,626kb
  • Length: 49:08

Resulting File

  • Size: 191,891kb
  • Length: 16:12
Both source and target files are on UNC paths

MCEBuddy Settings
Everything not listed is set to defaults including comskip INI which I haven’t even opened yet

  • Profile: MP4 Normal
  • Ad remover: Comskip
  • Cut start: 5 (To cut the PlayOn screen it adds to each file it records)
  • Hardware acceleration: Enabled

Attached is the log file from the conversion…
A Haunting - s08e01 - Heartland Horror B.mp4-Convert to MP4-2019-12-03T14-01-28.9737401-06-00.log (1.0 MB)

What do you suggest I do to resolve this? Thanks!

Your log shows that play on is including ad chapter markers in the MP4 file and MCEBuddy is using that to cut the ads.

It looks like playon is being too aggressive with your ad markers. Try to disable it so that Comskip runs and detects your ads instead if using the play on ad markers.
