Does changing the Show Type from shows to movies effect paid comskip? Can I just leave the setting on shows and not see a difference in the High Quality MP4 result? Thanks.

It’s only used to select files for processing by the conversion task.
So, that would be a yes? Selecting different files for a task would likely mean different results. What specifically might change? Comskip? Compression?
No. It’s has no bearing on anything other than looking at the metadata to determine if the conversion task should process the file or skip it.
Commercial detection is independently handled by Comskip and ShowAnalyzer, depending on your selection, and their respective configuration files.
You can set different conversion tasks to use different Comskip INI files if you want different commercial processing for each conversion task.
