I would like the ability to resize the Monitor locations and Conversion tasks sections under MCEBuddy Settings. I have around 20 Conversion tasks and 12 Monitor locations and I easily lose my place when scrolling through.
I would really like an easy drag and drop interface on these sections also in order to re-arrange the order. Or a sort button to sort a-z or z-a.
When you duplicate a Conversion task it would be nice if it pre-filled the new name with the old name and append -Copy or something along those lines.
This may not be a good idea since the order of the tasks determines the order of monitoring directories as well as the order of execution of the conversion tasks. A single click re-ordering can have a unintended consequences and mess up the order. It may be possible to drag and move the order but is that what is really needed? Are tasks ordered changed often enough? It’s currently possible to reorder the tasks using the right click interface to move them up or down.
I just used this today! I kind of agree with the right-mouse then move up/down being already sufficient. I don’t think people are constantly re-ordering their conversion tasks.
Now the job queue on the other hand … Maybe giving the job queue a visible sequence number and being able to sort up/down by file name, date, or size, along with adding a display of the file datetime and size would do the trick perfectly if MCEBuddy just processes the first job in sequence number order (which it is probably already doing under the hood since you can drag’n’drop jobs to re-order them).
When you use the right click to move them the view resets back to the top of the list, which means I have to scroll back after each move if it was at the bottom of the list to begin with. This is very cumbersome. This isn’t something I have to do often but when I have had to make changes, I am annoyed by the UI. If you think it will cause others to have issues then I understand not making the change.
Can I stop in the app and stop the actual windows service and edit the Tasks order in mcebuddy.conf to change the order?
Good feedback, that’s been fixed in today’s 2.6.5 beta build. When you move, rename or duplicate a task it will reselect the original task after the operation has been completed.
This feature has been added in today’s 2.6.5 beta build, you can dynamically adjust the height between the monitor locations and conversion task panes.
Worked perfectly, this is extremely convenient. Thank you
This is a huge time saver, thank you.
This works and does help me out a lot when seeing all tasks and monitor locations. It is limited to the size of the window and the non-General Settings section.
Is there any chance for the ability to resize the window height that affects that non-General Settings section?
