Upgraded MCEBuddy and now comericals aren't removing?

Hello, for a long time I have been using “MCEBuddy 2.4.6 64bit” and “comskip81_092_donators” and it was working great without any issues. MCEBuddy kept informing me that version is no longer supported, so I decided to upgrade expecting things to be the same, or better. However what I found was that now its not working, and I’m not sure why so hopefully someone can help me!

I am a premium supporter of both MCEBuddy and Comskip, so first I uninstalled the old versions and then downloaded and installed “MCEBuddy 2.4.10 64bit - 20190313” and “comskip82_007_donators” I double checked all the settings (I had taken screenshots before I uninstalled the old version so I could compare) and everything looked good. I then figured there was something wrong with the beta, so I uninstalled that and went with the latest stable version, “MCEBuddy 2.4.9 64bit” but had the same problems. I tried both the donators version of Comskip, and the version included by MCEBuddy but in all cases, the file “processes” successfully, but the commercials are not removed. I looked in “history” and the results are the same as several weeks ago before I tried upgrading everything.

Here is a conversion log where I tried to re-process one of the recordings that the recordings were still present:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Scott

Looked at your log and you got the same thing i did. Comskip 82.7 comes up free version in mcebuddy and will not preform the cuts. i downgraded to Comskip 82.2 and all is fine again.

There’s a problem with your Comskip. It doesn’t appear to be running and exits with an error:

Try using the built in version that ships with MCEBuddy (0.82.003) or an older version of Comskip.

It appears to be an issue your custom comskip location or file permissions etc. I just did a test on the version you’re using and it’s working fine. This is what the logs look like when it’s accessible

Where as in your case it’s not even running and exiting with code 255. I think it’s a file permission issue with your comskip setup. Try using the built in version that ships with MCEBuddy and then move onto your custom version and check that the file is accessible to all users.

Thanks for the help everyone! It appears there are indeed issues with new version, I also came across these: link 1, link 2. Its odd that the comskip team acknowledged this and took down the newer version, then later put it back with the same issues. I’ve changed over to the old version I was using before, and now everything is working perfectly again! Thanks!
