I use custom cuts to process NFL games further after they are captured by Plex and processed by MCE Buddy. I mostly remove commercials and half-time during this process. This creates an EDL and everything works well.
However, one thing I have noticed is that the file gets re-encoded with the mkv. Since the file was already processed/compressed the first time, is there a way for MCEBuddy to use the EDL to cut/splice the video without re-encoding it? The concern here is any potential quality degradation during this process, as well as the time required.
