Cannot access commercial version after paying license fee

My Premium Access ZIPs contain only MCEBuddySetup64.msi and no Commercial license file. STABLE, BETA, and LEGACY all contain only the free installer. I cannot install the Commercial version.”

There is actually a very common misunderstanding here, so don’t worry—you are in the right place, and you have already downloaded the correct file!

1. There is no separate “license file” or “activation key”

MCEBuddy does not use license keys, registration codes, or separate license files.

The MCEBuddySetup64.msi installer that you downloaded from the Premium Access portal is the actual, fully unrestricted Premium (Commercial) version of the software. It has been pre-compiled as the full version, which is why there is no license file bundled inside the ZIP.

2. Why it looks like the “Free/Trial” installer

Because the installer file is named MCEBuddySetup64.msi (the same generic name used for the trial), it is easy to assume you downloaded the wrong one. However, the installer downloaded from the Premium Access Server contains the fully unlocked application.

3. How to install and verify your Premium version:

  1. Uninstall the Trial/Free version first: To prevent any conflicts or leftover files from the trial, go to your Windows Control Panel and uninstall any existing trial version of MCEBuddy. (Don’t worry, your monitored folders, history, and conversion settings will be automatically preserved during this process).
  2. Install the Premium version: Extract your Premium ZIP and run the MCEBuddySetup64.msi installer you downloaded from the Premium Access portal.
  3. Verify the installation:
    • Open MCEBuddy.
    • Run a test conversion on a file.
    • Click on the Logs button (or open the log file of your converted video).
    • Look at the top of the log file. The second line should read:
      INFORMATION --> License -> Premium

Once you see License -> Premium in the logs, you can rest assured that your MCEBuddy is fully active, unrestricted, and has full commercial commercial removal capabilities!
