Can you share the name of the software used to record/encode the video? The issue appears to be that different software are writing the metadata in different ways, partly because there’s not really a standard for the MP4 metadata (unlike other formats). e.g. some are writing the episode name in a specific atom where as others are writing the show name in the same atom, while others are writing the filename in there.

I use MetaX to tag them prior to processing them MCEBuddy. I’ve been playing around with lots of it’s settings trying to get the right values for MCEBuddy.
Is there any other tool recommendation for tagging?

I realize now, I should probably just get the filenames correct and use MCEBuddy.

That’s fine, not an issue. We’re updated the algorithm to take it into account. This should be fixed in today’s 2.6.2 beta build.
