Just an additional note which may help others who have not had a problem until today…
Had the same problem, worked great until today so I looked at the end of the error log and found errors like
ERROR> 2025-04-26T18:13:15 MCEBuddy.Engine.QueueManager → Unable to search for files in location D:\Recorded TV\HDHomeRun\ComSkip\Series for monitor task Windows Default
ERROR : Value cannot be null.
No file names in that directory were long enough to give a path too long error. However, when I looked at the first exception in log, I found this:
ERROR> → Unable to open INI file → C:\Program Files\MCEBuddy2x\config\history.
Error : SharpConfig.ParserException: Line 1: setting assignment expected.
at SharpConfig.ConfigurationReader.ParseSetting …
The history file was there but it was over 4 megabytes! (probably the original when I installed buddy in 2019). I renamed it to history.old and restarted buddy and everything started to work. New history file shows valid conversions. I’m working with an older beta (2.5 23 Jul 2019) so the problem may have been solved since then but thought I should let someone know who might also be working with an older version of buddy.
Starting a new topic for this as this appears to be either a corrupted history file or something else wrong with the configuration. Can you attach the complete mcebuddy.log file and also your history file from the config directory.
Have enclosed the 4mb history file which I renamed to history.old
Not sure which conf file gave me the problem. As far as I can remember, nothing worked before I deleted the history file. However, I may have edited the conf file and then deleted the history file before restarting buddy – I just don’t remember (it was late and all I wanted to do was go to bed). At any rate have enclosed both mcebuddy.conf and mcebuddy.conf.old (prior to edit).
If this was a corrupt file problem, it would make sense since I was having issues with a defective ssd c: drive. I thought I had everything fixed after i cloned/replaced the drive but this may be a remnant of the ssd drive problem.
tried to upload log file but it was 48 mb and editor rejected it. Using instructions for ftp, created directory /Ray1998 and uploaded file. Let me know if you need anything else.
