Nvidia GTX 1060 Hardware Encoding issue

I recently got a “new” nvidia GTX1060 card to do hardware encoding. I have a plex DVR box recording to a NAS and a separate computer built to monitor the NAS folders and do the encoding afterwards. This was working well on an old box that was 100% CPU encoding, slow but it worked.

I’ve read through the log and here is the first thing that stands out. I’ve researched the error and can’t find a solution. Any guidance is appreciated

“2019-11-05T00:03:38 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.FFmpeg --> [mpeg2video @ 00000167f8d14b00] decoder->cvdl->cuvidCreateDecoder(&decoder->decoder, params) failed -> CUDA_ERROR_INVALID_VALUE: invalid argument
2019-11-05T00:03:38 MCEBuddy.AppWrapper.FFmpeg --> [mpeg2video @ 00000167f8d14b00] Failed setup for format cuda: hwaccel initialisation returned error.”

The GPU is running approx 4-5% load according to GPU-Z, CPU is about 40-50%.

The logs show that ffmpeg is using the hardware encoder for encoding but it may not be using it for decoding. I’ll PM you some things to try
