El motor de MCEBuddy se ejecuta como un servicio de Windows cuando se instala por defecto. Puedes forzar que se ejecute como aplicación de usuario iniciando el motor de MCEBuddy desde el menú Inicio (apagará el servicio de Windows al iniciarse y lo reiniciará al cerrarse).

No veo por qué necesitarías usar NSSM cuando puedes ejecutarlo como servicio nativo o como aplicación de usuario.

Gracias por la respuesta. Ahh, no me di cuenta. Supongo que estaba confundido porque cuando se abrió la GUI estaba configurada como detenida. Y puedo iniciar y detener a buddy desde ella. Entonces, ¿el servicio se está deteniendo e iniciando o cómo funciona?

El “servicio” siempre está en ejecución (de lo contrario, la interfaz gráfica mostrará que no puede conectarse al motor).

Puedes interactuar con el motor, iniciar/detener conversiones, configuraciones, etc. desde la interfaz gráfica.

Estaba buscando exactamente esta respuesta. ¿Entonces la interfaz gráfica no tiene nada que ver con el servicio? ¿Puedo detener/iniciar la interfaz gráfica sin que eso afecte si MCEBuddy seguirá procesando en segundo plano?

Además, supongo que el servicio aún toma la configuración de lo que establecemos en la interfaz gráfica. Por ejemplo, MCEBuddy ya estaba en ejecución. Abrí la interfaz gráfica y agregué una opción de nombres personalizada. ¿El servicio ya en ejecución tomará automáticamente esa información de lo que hice?

Correcto, la GUI es solo una interfaz de usuario para configurar el motor y obtener su estado actual.

Toda la configuración se almacena en el motor. La GUI es una forma de recuperar esa configuración, modificarla y enviarla de vuelta al motor.

Por eso la GUI (también conocida como Cliente Remoto) se puede instalar en cualquier lugar y puedes tener varios Clientes Remotos ejecutándose al mismo tiempo en diferentes máquinas. Se conectan al motor principal, recuperan el estado/configuración y lo muestran.

¡Guau…quieres decir que puedo tener MCEBuddy funcionando en dos máquinas y tomará los ajustes a través de la red desde una sola GUI?

Esto parece responder a mi pregunta, ya que el SERVICIO tendría que estar ejecutándose en varias máquinas para hacer esto. Lo tengo en mi servidor multimedia y accedo a él de forma remota para hacerlo. Pensaba que quizás podría tenerlo también en mi PC principal, compartiendo esos ajustes para poder procesar la ocasional copia local.

Para añadir a lo que dijo @goose, si tienes el motor de MCEBuddy ejecutándose en, por ejemplo, 3 máquinas (todas sin cabeza o remotas, por ejemplo), puedes monitorear las 3 desde tu portátil de forma remota. Instala el Cliente Remoto en 3 carpetas separadas y haz que cada uno se conecte a los 3 motores. Ahora puedes ver en tiempo real lo que están haciendo los 3 motores de forma remota.
