BUG

MCEBuddy 2.5.1 Beta 1 64bit

Windows Server 2019 64-bit

Processing files hang at downloading additional show info from Internet sources. Looks like CPU activity eventually spikes and it’s possible that conversion is taking place but the GUI is not being updated. Disabling the feature to download additional show info bypasses the issue.

Logs?

99.999999% it isn’t a bug, one of the metadata websites is slow or unresponsive. Wait long enough and it’ll timeout and continue.

It does indeed seem it was an issue with one of the metadata websites.

With the next beta build we’ve added a timeout to reduce the dependency on extremely slow websites.

I just installed the latest 2.5.1 beta, and for the first five minutes of a conversion task, the GUI reports that it’s downloading show info from the internet. This is what I see in the logs. Eventually Comskip starts running and everything works from there, but this five minutes of nothingness is frustrating.

That’s normal, it can take anywhere from 1 minute upwards depending the speed of the websites it’s checking the metadata against and what all information needs to be checked. If you don’t want it to correct/download any information turn it off:

Would it be possible to log that then so that we know something is happening? The log gives no indication of whether sites are responding or timing out, if the show has been identified and data has been retrieved successfully, etc.
