# Chapter processing during task fails

**MCEBuddy Version: 2.7.2 2026-07-24**

**Operating System: Win10 22H2 (19045.7548)**

**Summary of the problem: processing tasks fail parsing chapters in some media files**

**Steps to replicate the bug: depends on media file. Process a media file with the problem fails parsing chapters. See logs below. I [uploaded the media file (1GB) and the log](https://discussion.mcebuddy2x.com/t/5076) file.**

Filename: The Grinder-S01E01-Pilot-MP2-720x480-AC3-5.1.mkv

Error message:

I was able to process the files by turning off the chapter processing in the profile.

So there is something going on when the file doesn’t have any chapter marks, perhaps?

Were you able to [upload the original video file? We need to see the actual data in the video file](https://discussion.mcebuddy2x.com/t/5076) to see what the chapter data is that’s causing the issue.
