Okay first I apologize I’m new here. I am hoping someone can explain something to me. I am testing out 3 different dvr’s, HDHomerun, Plex and Emby. My question is if I have a HDHomerun 1 hour recording and process it using HDHomerun unprocessed, it will complete in around 15 minutes great, but if I do a recording done by PLEX or Emby and use MKV unprocessed it will take around 2 hours. Why such a difference?
You can open your conversion log file, scroll to the bottom and it tells which activity took the most amount of time.
If it’s commercial detection, are you using the Donator version of Comskip?
I’m using the donator version, yes I know to look at bottom and it gives how long, that’s my question if I take a hdhomerun recording and process it with HDHomerun unprocess it will complete in about 15 minutes, if I take an recording from plex or emby which are already mkv and run it through mkv unprocess it will take 2 hours, why such a difference, with both using the same comskip?
So in which step is MCEBuddy spending all the time? Maybe it’s remuxing the file to mpeg2 and then reconverting it. Not sure without looking at the logs. Maybe if you attach a conversion log we can see what’s going on.

Okay here is a part of the log where it takes all the time, its just where it starts and ends, starts at 1:45:19 and ends at 3:43:39,this is with MKV unprocessed. The same area if I am processing an HDHOMERUN file with HDHOMERUN unprocessed takes 8 minutes.

As I had mentioned in my first post: Did you install the donator version of Comskip?

Excuse me, won’t bother you again.
Common mistake. Use the external folder method to install the donator version in the instructions, it is more permanent and persists across upgrades.
